How to use the reaction time test
- 1Click to start
Click the box to begin. It turns red — that is the waiting phase, so do not click yet.
- 2Wait for green
After a random 2–5 second wait, the box turns green. That is your signal.
- 3Click as fast as you can
Click the instant you see green. Your time for that trial is recorded in milliseconds.
- 4Finish all 5 trials
Repeat for 5 trials to get your average, your best time, and an informal rating. False starts are discarded and retried.
Why this reaction test is worth taking
A single trial is noisy. Five trials smooth out lucky guesses and slow blinks into a number you can trust.
Clicking during the red waiting phase is caught and the trial is retried — you cannot game the test by clicking early.
The wait is a random 2–5 seconds, so you cannot learn the rhythm and anticipate the green signal.
Timing uses your browser's high-resolution clock, so results are accurate to the millisecond, not rounded to a frame.
Each trial is listed in a table as you go, so you can spot your fastest and slowest reactions at a glance.
Tap on a touchscreen or click with a mouse — the test is fully responsive and touch-friendly.
