Why use this image format converter

Truly client-side conversion

Your browser's canvas engine does the work locally, so conversions are instant and your photos never travel over the internet.

Batch convert multiple files

Drop in a whole folder of screenshots or photos and convert them all to one format with a single click — each keeps its original filename.

Smart transparency handling

Converting a transparent PNG to JPG? Pick any background color to flatten it — no more ugly black boxes where transparency used to be.

Quality control for JPG and WebP

The quality slider (10–100%) lets you balance file size against sharpness — perfect for web uploads with size limits.

Original resolution preserved

Conversions keep your image's full dimensions. Nothing is resized, cropped, or watermarked unless you choose to.

WebP for faster websites

WebP files are typically 25–35% smaller than equivalent JPGs, which means faster page loads for your site or blog.

Image format converter FAQs

How do I convert PNG to JPG?
Add your PNG, select "JPG — smaller files" as the output format, and click Convert. Because JPG doesn't support transparency, pick a background color first — white is the usual choice for photos and screenshots.
Will converting reduce image quality?
PNG conversion is lossless — zero quality loss. JPG and WebP are lossy formats, so quality depends on the slider: 85% is a great balance, 95%+ is near-indistinguishable from the original, and lower values shrink files dramatically for web use.
What happens to transparency when converting to JPG?
JPG has no transparency channel, so transparent areas must become a solid color. Use the background color picker to choose it — commonly white, black, or your brand color. PNG and WebP keep transparency as-is.
Should I use WebP instead of JPG?
For websites, usually yes: WebP delivers the same visual quality at 25–35% smaller file sizes, and all modern browsers support it. Use JPG when you need maximum compatibility (older software, email attachments, print).
Is there a file size or count limit?
No. Since everything happens in your browser, there are no upload limits or queues. Very large images (50+ megapixels) may take a few seconds and use more memory.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
Never. Files are read from your device into your browser's memory and converted locally. This page works even offline once loaded.
Why did my converted JPG look bigger than the PNG?
An uncompressed PNG of a photo-like image can actually be smaller than a high-quality JPG. Lower the quality slider to 80–85% and the JPG will shrink dramatically with barely visible difference.
