Why word gamers love it

30,000-word dictionary

A frequency-ranked English word list of over 30,000 common words — deep enough for serious play, clean enough that you will not drown in obscure Scrabble-only oddities.

Exact-anagram finder

One toggle isolates the full-length rearrangements. Type listen and get silent, enlist, tinsel, and inlets in a dedicated highlight box.

Blank tile support

Type ? for each blank on your rack. Blanks can stand for any letter and correctly score 0 points, just like the real game.

Scrabble and WWF scores

Every result shows both its official Scrabble tile value (quiz = 22) and its Words With Friends value (quiz = 23), so the numbers match whichever game you play.

Length filters

Chasing a 7-letter bingo or a 2-letter hook? Dial in an exact min and max length to see only the words that fit your board.

Two smart sort orders

Longest-first surfaces the highest-potential plays; highest-score-first ranks by raw tile value. Ties keep the most common words on top.

Anagram Solver FAQs

How is this different from a word unscrambler?
Our Word Unscrambler finds words from your letters too — the Anagram Solver goes further with a dedicated exact-anagram mode, blank-tile support, and Scrabble plus Words With Friends scores on every result.
How do blank tiles work?
Type ? for each blank tile you hold. The solver substitutes every possible letter for it when matching words, and blanks contribute 0 points to the displayed tile scores — exactly like real Scrabble rules.
How are the tile scores calculated?
Using standard English Scrabble values: 1 point for A, E, I, O, U, L, N, S, T, R; 2 for D and G; 3 for B, C, M, P; 4 for F, H, V, W, Y; 5 for K; 8 for J and X; 10 for Q and Z. So quiz scores Q10 + U1 + I1 + Z10 = 22. Words With Friends uses its own values, shown in the WWF badge.
What is the longest input the solver accepts?
12 letters total, including ? blanks. That covers a full 7-tile Scrabble rack with room for board letters, plus most newspaper jumbles.
Are obscure words included?
The dictionary is frequency-ranked toward common English, so everyday words surface first. Very obscure tournament-only words were left out to keep results useful.
Can I use this for Words With Friends?
Yes. Every result carries a WWF badge with the Words With Friends tile values, which differ from Scrabble (for example B, C, and D score differently).
Is what I type stored anywhere?
No. The entire dictionary lives inside this page and every search runs locally in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server or saved.
