The scanner reads the code in a fraction of a second and shows the hidden text, link, WiFi login, or contact card.

Copy the text to your clipboard with one tap, or hit Open link to visit a decoded URL directly.

Why use this QR scanner

Camera plus upload

Scan live with your phone or laptop camera, or decode a saved screenshot, photo, or downloaded QR image.

Smart content detection

URLs get an Open link button, WiFi codes show the network name and password neatly, and vCards unpack into name, phone, and email.

Handles tricky codes

Reads dense, small, or slightly blurry QR codes, and automatically retries inverted (light-on-dark) codes.

One-tap copy

The decoded text lands in a copy-ready box — grab WiFi passwords and long links without retyping.

Private by design

Decoding runs entirely in your browser with an embedded library. Scanned links and passwords never touch a server.

Works on any device

Phones, tablets, laptops, and desktops — the scanner adapts, using the rear camera on mobile automatically.

QR code scanner FAQs

How do I scan a QR code with my laptop camera?
Choose the "Use camera" tab and press Start camera. Your browser will ask for camera permission — allow it once, then hold the QR code up to the lens. The result appears automatically the moment the code is readable. Front cameras work too, though holding the code steady helps.
Can I scan a QR code from a screenshot or photo?
Yes — switch to the Upload tab and drop in any PNG, JPG, GIF, or WebP image: screenshots, saved photos, or QR images you downloaded. The scanner decodes it instantly without needing a camera at all.
What kinds of QR content can it read?
Website URLs, plain text, WiFi network logins (SSID and password), vCard contact cards, email addresses, phone numbers, and SMS codes. URLs get an Open link button; WiFi and contact data are unpacked into labeled fields.
Is it safe to scan QR codes I do not trust?
Scanning itself is safe — this tool only reads the text inside the code and never visits links automatically. Before tapping Open link, check that the shown URL looks legitimate, since QR codes can hide phishing addresses behind short links.
Why does it say "no QR code found"?
Usually the image is too blurry, too small, cropped, or overexposed. Try a sharper photo with the whole code visible and even lighting. Very dense codes also decode better from a larger, higher-resolution image.
Does the camera work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. On phones the scanner prefers the rear camera automatically. Camera access requires a secure (HTTPS) page — which this site is — plus your one-time permission in the browser prompt.
Are my scans uploaded anywhere?
No. The decoding library runs entirely inside this page. Your camera feed, uploaded images, and scanned results never leave your device.
