How to use the bracket generator

  1. 1Enter your teams

Type or paste one team name per line — anywhere from 2 to 32 teams. If your count is not a power of two, the tool adds byes automatically.

  2. 2Pick a format and seeding

Choose single or double elimination, then a random draw or ranked seeding where your list order sets the seeds.

  3. 3Advance the winners

Click a team in any match to mark it the winner. It moves to the next round automatically until one champion remains.

Why use this bracket maker

Single and double elimination

Run a classic knockout or give first-round losers a second life in the losers bracket, ending in a grand final.

Smart byes for any team count

Bring 6, 10, or 13 teams — the bracket pads to the next power of two and top seeds get the byes, fairly.

Click-to-advance winners

No retyping. Tap the winning team and the bracket updates itself, round by round, all the way to the champion.

Random or ranked seeding

Shuffle the draw for casual fun, or seed properly so the strongest teams cannot meet before the late rounds.

Print-friendly layout

Hit Print for a clean paper bracket to post on the wall at your office, bar, or game night.

Works for any sport or game

Soccer, basketball, esports, chess, office ping-pong — if it has teams and a winner, this bracket fits.

Tournament bracket FAQs

How does single elimination work?
Every match is win-or-go-home. Winners advance to the next round and losers are out. With 8 teams you get quarterfinals, semifinals, and a final — 7 matches total.
What happens with 6 teams, or any number that is not a power of two?
The bracket pads up to the next power of two (6 becomes 8) and the extra slots become byes. In ranked mode the top seeds receive the byes; in random mode they land wherever the draw puts them, and bye teams advance automatically.
What is the difference between random and ranked seeding?
Random draw shuffles every team into the bracket like pulling names from a hat. Ranked seeding treats your list order as the ranking — seed 1 faces the lowest seed first, so the favorites are kept apart until the later rounds.
How does double elimination work here?
The winners bracket runs like single elimination. Teams that lose in the first round drop into a losers bracket, which plays out as its own mini-tournament. The losers-bracket champion then faces the winners-bracket champion in a grand final.
Can I change a winner after clicking it?
Yes. Click the other team in the same match and the bracket updates — the corrected winner moves forward and any later rounds it had already reached are cleared.
How many teams can I enter?
Between 2 and 32 teams. That covers everything from a quick head-to-head final to a full 32-team tournament with five rounds.
Is my team list saved or shared?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser. Your team names never leave your device and are never sent to a server.
