Why use this invoice generator

Live preview, zero surprises

The preview on the right is exactly what your PDF looks like — every keystroke updates it, so there are no formatting surprises.

Automatic math

Line totals, subtotal, percentage discounts, and sales tax are all calculated for you. No spreadsheet errors, no mental math.

Client-ready PDF

The print stylesheet strips the app chrome and produces a crisp, white, letterhead-style invoice your clients will take seriously.

Switch between USD, EUR, and GBP with one click — the symbol updates across line items and totals.

Private by design

Everything runs in your browser with JavaScript. Your client lists and dollar amounts are never sent to any server.

Frequently asked questions

Is this invoice generator really free?
Yes — unlimited invoices, unlimited downloads, no watermark, no account. The whole tool runs in your browser, so there is no server cost to pass on to you.
How do I download my invoice as a PDF?
Click the “Download PDF (Print → Save as PDF)” button. In the print dialog that opens, change the destination to “Save as PDF” (Chrome, Edge, and Firefox all offer it) and save. The print stylesheet removes everything except the invoice itself.
Where is my data stored?
Nowhere but your browser tab. We do not upload, store, or see any of your business or client information — close the tab and it is gone. If you want to keep a copy, save the PDF.
Can I add tax and discounts?
Yes. Enter a discount percentage and a tax percentage and both apply automatically — tax is calculated on the discounted subtotal, which is how most US sales tax works. Totals update live.
Does it support currencies other than USD?
Yes — the currency dropdown includes USD ($), EUR (€), and GBP (£). The symbol updates everywhere on the invoice instantly.
Can I customize the invoice number and dates?
Yes. The invoice number auto-generates in an INV-YYYYMMDD-NNN format and today’s date defaults to MM/DD/YYYY, but every field is editable — set your own numbering scheme and payment terms.
Is the PDF professional enough to send to clients?
The output is a clean, minimal letterhead-style invoice: your business header, numbered invoice, itemized table with an accent rule, totals block, and notes section — the format accountants and US small businesses expect.
