Estimated net pay per paycheck
$0

This is an estimate for planning only — it uses 2026 federal brackets, the standard deduction, and FICA rates, and ignores state and local taxes, credits, and employer-specific plans. It is not tax advice. Actual withholding follows your W-4 and employer’s payroll setup.

Paycheck calculator FAQs

How is take-home pay calculated?
We take your gross pay, subtract pre-tax deductions (like 401(k) and health premiums), apply the 2026 federal income tax brackets with the standard deduction for your filing status, subtract FICA (Social Security 6.2% plus Medicare 1.45%), then subtract post-tax deductions. The result is your estimated net pay.
Does this include state taxes?
No. State and local income taxes vary widely and change often, so this estimator leaves them out. Treat the net figure as before state and local tax.
Why is my real paycheck different from this estimate?
Real withholding depends on your W-4 elections, tax credits, state taxes, employer benefit plans, bonuses, and other factors this simplified estimator cannot see. Use the result as a planning estimate.
What is FICA?
FICA is the payroll tax that funds Social Security and Medicare: 6.2% for Social Security (up to an annual wage limit) and 1.45% for Medicare on all wages. Your employer pays a matching share.
Are 401(k) contributions pre-tax here?
Yes — the 401(k), health insurance, and “other pre-tax” fields are subtracted before federal income tax is computed, which is how traditional pre-tax deductions work.
Is my salary data private?
Completely. The calculation runs in your browser with JavaScript — your numbers are never uploaded, stored, or sent anywhere.
