Audio Speed Changer

Speed up or slow down any audio file from 0.5x to 2.0x with no chipmunk effect. Our pitch-preserving time-stretch runs 100% in your browser — preview the result and download it as WAV, all free and private.

Change your audio speed

Upload an audio file, pick a speed, and press Process. The pitch stays exactly the same — only the tempo changes. Everything runs on your device.

or drag and drop it here — MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A

Pitch-preserving: this tool uses a WSOLA time-stretch algorithm, so a 1.5x podcast still sounds like the same voice — just faster. A simple playback-speed change would raise the pitch like a chipmunk; this does not. Processing happens fully on your device.
100% private

Your audio is processed entirely in your browser. Files are never uploaded to any server.

No signup

Change speed instantly. No accounts, no email, no waiting.

Free forever

Unlimited processing with no watermarks, no file caps, and no locked features.

How to use the audio speed changer

  1. 1
    Upload your audio

Click the box or drag in an MP3, WAV, OGG, or M4A file. The name, length, sample rate, and channels appear right away.

  2. 2
    Pick a speed

Drag the slider from 0.5x (half speed) to 2.0x (double speed), or tap a preset. The expected output length updates live.

  3. 3
    Process it

Press Process Audio. The pitch-preserving stretch runs on your device — longer files take a few extra seconds.

  4. 4
    Preview and download

Play the result to check it sounds right, then download it as a 16-bit WAV file you can use anywhere.

Fine-grained slider in 0.05 steps plus one-tap presets for the most common speeds, with live output-length estimates.

Live preview

Listen to the processed result right on the page before you download anything.

Decoding, stretching, and encoding all happen on your device. Your audio never leaves your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Does changing the speed change the pitch?
No — that is the whole point. A simple playback-speed change makes voices squeaky (the chipmunk effect). This tool uses pitch-preserving time-stretching, so a 1.5x lecture sounds like the same speaker talking faster, not a different speaker.
What audio formats can I upload?
Anything your browser can decode: MP3, WAV, OGG, and M4A all work, in mono or stereo.
What speeds are supported?
From 0.5x (half speed, doubles the length) to 2.0x (double speed, halves the length), adjustable in 0.05 steps.
Where does the processing happen?
Entirely in your browser. Your file is decoded, stretched, and re-encoded on your device — it is never uploaded anywhere, so it stays private.
What do I download?
A standard 16-bit WAV file at your audio’s original sample rate and channel count, named after your file plus the speed (for example, podcast-1.50x.wav).
Will the quality degrade?
Time-stretching re-synthesizes the sound, so it is not bit-identical to the original — but WSOLA is designed to keep it natural. Speech and podcasts stretch cleanly across the full range; at extreme speeds on complex music you may hear slight artifacts, so preview first.
Is there a file size limit?
No limit is imposed. Very long files take longer to process and use more memory, so expect a short wait on multi-hour audio.
